Kanmiya Sawada Shoten is a Nagoya sweets café built around kakigori. A renovated ice wholesaler’s shop provides the setting for shaved ice made with pure ice, alongside Japanese sweets and drinks.
Kakigori and seasonal sweets
Classic kakigori flavors include white syrup, black syrup, strawberry, mikan, shikuwasa, matcha, and hōjicha. Seasonal syrups are also available, with toppings such as milk, azuki, shiratama, and almonds. In autumn and winter, the café also offers sweets including dumplings and baked sweet potato desserts.
The café is open year-round for kakigori, making it a focused stop for shaved ice as well as seasonal Japanese sweets. There are 28 seats, including table, courtyard, and counter seating.
