About

Champagne A. Bergère begins in Fèrebrianges, where the family's winegrowing roots go back to 1848. Albert Bergère founded the house in 1949; today the domaine spans 45 hectares, with most of its vines in the Vallée du Petit Morin and smaller holdings in the Sézannais and Côte des Blancs.

Plots before the blend

Adrien Bergère joined the family operation in 2014 and now oversees winemaking. The domaine reports 139 vineyard plots. It vinifies their fruit separately, then Adrien blind-tastes the resulting wines before blending. That approach offers a reason to compare a Blanc de Blancs from the Côte des Blancs with wines shaped by the house's Petit Morin holdings.

Two ways to visit

The tasting room and boutique at 38-40 Avenue de Champagne in Épernay are open year-round. Guided visits require booking. One tour travels to the domaine in Fèrebrianges and its cellars before a three-wine tasting back beneath the Avenue de Champagne. A shorter van tour explores the Côte des Blancs and includes a glass of Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru at a viewpoint. Confirm the format and departure time with the house before travelling.
