WinemakerAndy Erickson

Founded in 2003 by viticulturist Annie Favia and winemaker Andy Erickson, Favia Wines grew from a restored historic property in Napa's Coombsville AVA and now also stewards an 86-acre Oakville estate. About

Two Napa Estates, One Farming Philosophy

Favia Wines began in 2003 as a collaboration between viticulturist Annie Favia and winemaker Andy Erickson. The project took root at their historic Coombsville property in southeast Napa, where they restored native ecology, planted fruit orchards, and established a small dry-farmed vineyard. In early 2023, Favia became steward of an additional 86-acre parcel in Oakville. The company describes that Oakville land as its vision for the future, while Coombsville remains the foundation of its winemaking story and the address associated with current appointment requests.

Farming and Winemaking

Favia's approach begins with vineyard ecology and site selection. The team works with select sites along the Vaca Mountains and uses gentle handling and minimal intervention in the cellar. Annie Favia directs the viticultural perspective; Andy Erickson leads winemaking; and winemaker Jessica Tarpy is part of the current team. Their stated goal is not to force a uniform house character, but to preserve the differences among Coombsville, Oakville, and other mountain-influenced sites.

The portfolio includes Cabernet Sauvignon from Coombsville, Oakville, and Napa Valley; the Cabernet Franc-led Cerro Sur; La Magdalena, a mountain red blend; and LÍNEA Sauvignon Blanc. Coombsville's cooler position and volcanic influence remain central to Favia's identity, while the Oakville estate adds a distinct central-valley site to the project. The 2023 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon explicitly brings together Favia's interpretation of Coombsville and Oakville.

The Coombsville Property and Oakville Future

It refers to the historic house-and-winery property where Favia established its gardens, orchard, and dry-farmed vineyard. The newer Oakville parcel is a separate 86-acre estate and should be represented as part of Favia's developing future rather than used to relocate the existing Coombsville address prematurely.

Planning a Visit

Favia accepts private appointment requests Thursday through Monday. Visits should be arranged directly through the winery rather than treated as walk-in tasting-room hours. The winery lists 707-256-0875 for contact, creekside@faviawines.com for appointments, and inquiry@faviawines.com for general and wholesale inquiries. Guests should confirm which property is included when making arrangements, because Favia now discusses both Coombsville and Oakville on its official site.
