Deetjen's Restaurant occupies four intimate rooms inside the historic Deetjen's Big Sur Inn. Fireplaces, candlelight, classical music and antique-filled interiors create one of the coast's most distinctive dining settings, with a warm, informal tone rather than polished formality.
Breakfast is served daily from 8 a.m. to noon, with long-running favorites including eggs Benedict, buttermilk pancakes and a breakfast burrito. Dinner is served Friday through Tuesday beginning at 5:30 p.m.; the menu moves among vegetarian, fish and meat entrees and daily specials, supported by a focused list of California and Monterey County wines and beer.
Reservations are required for parties of six or more and recommended for other dinner guests. The restaurant shares the inn's Highway 1 address and limited on-site parking.
