A 20-minute seaplane ride east from Malé deposits guests on a 600-by-150-meter island where 100 rooms somehow avoid visual collision. The overwater villas on twin boardwalks sit on stilts above rising sea levels, rooftop solar panels doing the eco work. Inside: teak ceiling fans, 65-inch swivel TVs, glass floor portals revealing the ocean below, and steps descending directly into snorkeling territory. Three restaurants rotate themes: Dhonveli does buffets on sand floors, Madivaru fuses Mediterranean and Asian plates, Raalhu handles fine dining with a fishbone sculpture overhead and mojito sorbet between courses. Personal lifestyle assistants respond via WhatsApp for restaurant bookings and buggy pickups.
