LYLA Restaurant & Rooms

Set in Royal Terrace, a row of beautifully restored Georgian townhouses, LYLA is precisely what its name suggests: first, a small but eminently worthwhile restaurant with an artful approach and a seafood focus. That there are only four rooms, though, by no means implies that the lodgings are an afterthought; evocatively styled and sumptuously comfortable, they’re as moodily, richly textured as LYLA’s dining room is reverently austere. Breakfast, naturally, is a cut above most luxury-hotel fare, as is the minibar selection, and the tactile comforts, including freestanding bathtubs, are equally thoughtful.
