Chicago Wine Events: La Fête du Champagne 2026

Salon 2015, Krug Grande Cuvée, Rare millésimes and La Closerie Les Béguines set the tone for La Fête du Champagne Chicago 2026, the October Champagne weekend to plan around. From October 22 to 24, the program moves through producer dinners, a Laurent-Perrier masterclass, a Grand Tasting and the closing Gala Dinner.

Producer dinners and late-night Champagne

The producer dinners suit you if you want to sit with one estate’s wines across cuvées, villages and vintages. Friday’s late-night event is the relaxed counterpoint, with Champagne from magnum and Chicago dogs.

The opening dinner on Thursday, October 22, brings eleven La Closerie wines to Le Mistral at S.K.Y. with Jérôme and Agnès Prévost. Based in Gueux in the western Montagne de Reims, their estate is particularly associated with Meunier, one of Champagne’s principal grapes.

Tickets cost $1,650 plus tax. Chef Stephen Gillanders will prepare a contemporary American tasting menu; specific dishes have not yet been announced.

The announced wines are:

  • Esperluette, labeled “&”: 2023 and 2020

  • Les Béguines: 2023, 2022, 2020 and 2014

  • Grand Cru: 2022, 2021 and 2020, blending Pinot Noir from Puisieulx with Chardonnay from Le Mesnil

  • “d’un Iota” 2020

  • Les Béguines 2021 in magnum

Book this dinner if La Closerie is your priority. Several releases of Les Béguines allow guests to follow the cuvée across years, including 2014 and a 2021 magnum.

Saturday tastings and Gala Dinner at Avec River North

Saturday at Avec River North is one efficient way to taste across the program. You can book a one-hour Grand Siècle masterclass, a two-hour Grand Tasting or the evening Gala Dinner.

Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle Masterclass

Saturday’s Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle masterclass starts at 11:00am at Avec River North. Tickets cost $95 plus tax. Edouard Cossy, Global Director of Grand Siècle, will set a single-vintage Champagne beside Grand Siècle iterations blended from three years:

  • Grand Siècle Itération N°27, a blend of 2015, 2013 and 2012

  • Grand Siècle Itération N°24 in bottle and magnum

The Chicago Grand Tasting runs from noon to 2:00pm at Avec River North. Chicago Gala Dinner at Avec River North

The Chicago Gala Dinner closes the festival at 6:30pm at Avec River North. Tickets cost $795 plus tax. Chablis from Domaine William Fèvre will be served at reception.

Host chefs Paul Kahan and Dylan Patel of Avec will collaborate with John Manion of Brasero, Tayler Ploshehanski of Creepies and Oliver Poilevey of Obélix on a multi-course menu.

Guests are invited to bring Champagne from their own cellars to share alongside wines supplied by attending producers. Sommeliers will handle service. The specific organizer-provided wine selection is still to be announced.

Choose the gala if you want a full dinner and a reason to open something from your own cellar. The BYOB invitation gives guests an occasion to share a bottle they have saved with people who follow Champagne closely.

How to choose your Chicago Champagne events

Choose La Closerie for the Prévosts’ wines, Larmandier-Bernier for Chardonnay across villages and vintages, or Savart for a dinner following several vineyard sites. Each offers the opportunity to hear from the producer while enjoying a meal.

For a shorter tasting, Saturday offers two choices at Avec. The Grand Siècle masterclass focuses on one house’s blending and formats. The Grand Tasting brings together 12 producers with small bites including caviar and oysters.

Franks & Fizz is one informal option: a late-night gathering with magnums and Chicago dogs. For a full evening of collaborative cooking, producer wines and shared cellar bottles, choose the gala.
