Our verdict

Restaurant in Vall d’Aran with almost five decades of history offering traditional Aran cooking. Typical cosy mountain décor with dressed tables, stone walls, wood features and an open fireplace. The specialities include traditional Aran stew, onion soup, stuffed cabbage, homemade pâtés and grilled meat. Service is informal, more akin to being welcomed into someone’s home than dining in a restaurant. A small shop at the back sells homemade jams, cakes and pâtés. Well worth a second a visit.
