Champagne Pierre Gerbais

Champagne Pierre Gerbais is a family grower in Celles-sur-Ource in the Aube. Aurélien Gerbais leads the fourth generation. The estate’s roughly 18 hectares include Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and the less common Pinot Blanc.

Grains de Celles and the parcels

Grains de Celles brings the village’s grapes together. Recent editions are made from a single harvest, while the named parcel wines combine a base harvest with reserve wine. La Fête du Champagne lists Grains de Celles 2023 in its 2026 programme. Check the release on the bottle, since older stock may still be described differently by merchants.

Farming and cellar choices

The family changed its vineyard management in the 1990s and holds Ampelos certification. Coquard pressing and a pied de cuve start are documented for the estate. For fermentation vessel, sulfur additions and ageing, use the technical details of the particular wine and release rather than assuming one house-wide formula.
