Located at Marsa Al Arab Marina, behind the Jumeirah hotel and along the promenade, Cutfish is a new, small, contemporary Japanese restaurant, the brainchild of executive chef Henry Park. The design draws on modern Japanese aesthetics, with an open bar and sushi counter where diligent chefs slice and dice fish and fold nori handrolls – their unagi version is faultless. Both wagyu and grill options are plentiful, but they’re more suited for sharing than solo dining, try the aka miso ribs. Champagnes are available, but there is no by-the-glass option; the non-alcoholic options are strong.
