AUYL in Medeu is a neo-nomad restaurant cooking over open fire inside a historic Soviet-era yurt, with mountain views. The restaurant is a relocated yurt at the Tian Shan foothills, 1,700 metres above Almaty. Its wine list is a sustainable list among the most considered in Central Asia. It holds Star Wine List, La Liste at 75 points, and a Tatler listing in Best Restaurants Asia-Pacific.
In Almaly, this restaurant cooks over fire using a grill and a wood oven inside a historic modernist building. The cooking is Kazakh-European, with an extensive wine list and craft cocktails. La Liste scored it 76.5 points, then 75 points, and it holds a Star Wine List award.
