How this list is chosen: Restaurants serving a tasting menu or omakase, listed alphabetically. Updated October 8, 2026.
Aeeen
A Michelin Plate-recognised vegetarian restaurant in Chiang Mai's Su Thep neighbourhood, Aeeen operates under a Neo Shojin Ryori concept, combining Japanese Buddhist-influenced plant-based cooking with seasonal Northern Thai ingredients. The setting is a two-storey wooden house stocked with fermentation jars, where a Japanese couple runs a menu that positions Chiang Mai within a growing Southeast Asian current of vegetables-first dining.
Belén by Paulo Airaudo
Set inside the InterContinental on the Mae Ping river, Belén by Paulo Airaudo brings European technique to Chiang Mai's northern larder in an intimate 18-seat dining room anchored by a chamchuri wood counter. The experience opens in a book-lined aperitif lounge before moving into a focused tasting format where local fruits, vegetables, tea, and cheese meet sharp continental craft. A composed, detail-oriented addition to the city's fine-dining circuit.
Blackitch Artisan Kitchen
A 16-seat tasting counter on Nimmanhaemin Soi 7, Blackitch holds consecutive Michelin Plate recognitions (2024 and 2025) for its seasonal menu built from ingredients sourced across Thailand. Chef Phanuphol Bulsuwan ferments and ages core components in-house, drawing on techniques passed through his grandmother. The format is intimate and the cooking is structured around specificity rather than spectacle.
Cuisine de Garden
Cuisine de Garden holds a Michelin Plate for 2024 and 2025, applying Nordic-influenced technique to northern Thai ingredients on a seasonal tasting menu inside a rustic-timber property in Hang Dong, south of Chiang Mai city. Waste-reduction runs through the kitchen's working logic, with byproducts from one course recurring in another.
Friend's Table
A Michelin Plate-recognised chef's table set inside a glass-enclosed wing of a private home in Hang Dong, Friend's Table operates on a fixed dinner format starting at 7 pm sharp. Two collaborating chefs produce refined, creatively presented dishes calibrated to the intensity of the Asian palate. The setting is intimate, the cooking deliberate, and punctuality is not optional.
Na Chantra
Set within the Chantra Khiri Hotel in Hang Dong's hillside countryside, Na Chantra pairs an infinity pool terrace and national park views with a menu of central and northern Thai cooking. Herbs and vegetables arrive from the adjacent farm; dishes like minced pork with spicy sauce and yellow curry soup with sea bass are prepared from scratch daily.
NAVAN NAVAN
Set among rice fields in Mae Rim District, NAVAN NAVAN is a Michelin Plate-recognised creative restaurant where a charcoal grill and local northern Thai ingredients drive a menu built around natural flavours and unpretentious technique. The stand-alone cement building, with its open kitchen and garden views, positions it comfortably above the city-centre mid-range bracket while remaining accessible at the ฿฿฿ price point.
The Redbox
A Michelin Plate holder for two consecutive years, The Redbox brings modern Thai cooking to Chang Phueak with deliberate sourcing at its core. Salted eggs from Chaiya and Gula Melaka from Malaysia anchor a menu shaped by cross-border influences, while limited seating makes advance booking a practical necessity for anyone serious about the table.
