Tulou, China
Huanxing Hakka Restaurant
Huanxing Hakka Restaurant sits in Tulou, the UNESCO-listed earthen fortress villages of Fujian province, where Hakka cooking has been shaped by centuries of agricultural self-sufficiency. The kitchen draws on the same preserved, fermented, and slow-cooked traditions that sustained Hakka communities through generations of migration. For anyone tracing China's regional foodways beyond the urban dining circuit, this is a direct encounter with that living tradition.
